COVID-19 Protocols
Early Explorations and Early Explorations Too have always taken pride in maintaining the childcare center in a very clean, sanitary, health conscious, and aesthetically pleasing manner. To further protect our children, families, and staff during COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure everyone’s health. Policies are updated as new guidance is released from the Governor’s Office of Early Education.
Masks/Face Shields
Masks/Face Shields are worn by staff and children over 2 years-of-age throughout the day with the exception of outdoor play, naptime, and meal service. We ask that everyone comes to the learning center with a fresh, clean mask each day. Disposable masks are available at the childcare center for any child or staff member who may soil their mask during the day.
Temperature Checks
Temperature Checks should be taken at home each day prior to coming to the learning center. This includes all children and all adults who enter the building. Additional temperature checks are taken, as needed.
Health Screening
A health screening consisting of a list of health-related questions must be recorded on the Tadpoles app each day prior to entering the learning center. Questions will ask about fever, symptoms, and exposure. The child care center receives notice of all health screenings in the Tadpoles app.
Classroom Entry
Classroom entry will be limited to teaching staff, children formally enrolled in the classroom, and necessary support staff. Parents are invited to enter the learning center where they can drop their child off at the classroom door. Please remember to mask up and social distance while in the building.
Enhanced Cleaning Protocols
- Extra handwashing by children and staff
- Hand sanitizer for adult use
- Classrooms and common areas will be sanitized twice during the day and each evening
Smile & Say Cheese!
We believe in safety first. From the keyless entry system at the front door to our state-of-the-art closed circuit camera systems throughout the childcare center, parking lot, and playground, we can monitor one or multiple areas of our building at the same time. We utilize the camera system not only as a safety tool, but to provide ongoing staff and child assessments, and additional peace of mind to families.
Kiss That Boo-Boo Good-Bye!
We offer on-site first aid and CPR training to all staff members each February and August to ensure our staff remain up to date on these lifesaving skills.
Keeping Us Informed!
We contract with an RN who performs monthly site visits to the childcare centers and addresses current events pertaining to the health, safety, and nutritional needs of children. Infant and toddler classroom teachers get one-on-one time to discuss the unique needs of our youngest children.
Playing It Safe!
Our playgrounds are inspected daily for visual cues of wear and tear or defect, which are promptly repaired by our handyman. An annual inspection by a certified playground specialist is also performed to ensure the structural safety of all equipment.
Yuck! Buckets
To ensure children can freely explore their environment without risk of contamination, each classroom has a “yuck bucket” to store toys that are contaminated by little mouths and hands throughout the day. Teachers sanitize all contaminated items each day during naptime and at the end of the day to ensure they are ready for more exploration and love.
Keeping It Clean!
Our buildings are professionally cleaned 5 days per week with commercial grade cleaning products. Throughout the day as little messes are made, teachers promptly clean-up to avoid accidents or unsanitary conditions. Cleanliness is paramount!
